It is no coincidence that Zsolt Zólyomi is called the “Hungarian nose.” His interest in scents first led him to the natural sciences: he graduated as a plant biologist and researcher from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at ELTE, then earned a degree in economics from Corvinus University. He later mastered the art of perfumery in France, at the ISIPCA Fragrance Academy in Versailles, where he studied in the 2005 class alongside just twelve other students from around the world.
He draws on this diverse knowledge during Le Parfum’s one-hour personalized perfume consultation. In addition to scent preferences, personality and current life circumstances also play a role; by trying out different fragrance families and compositions, a clear picture gradually emerges of which direction truly resonates with the guest. The selected perfumes are also tested on the skin, since the same scent can unfold differently on everyone, and the skin’s own scent can also influence how a particular composition comes through.
