Málna The Pastry Shop has become one of the most recognized names in the Hungarian pastry industry: it won the Dining Guide’s “Pastry Shop of the Year” award in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Behind the brand are Zoltán Kolonics and his wife, Ágnes Varga. Over the course of his more than three-decade career, Kolonics has gained experience at internationally renowned pastry shops in France and abroad, and in Hungary, he previously worked as the head pastry chef at Gerbeaud.
In addition to French pastry techniques, Kolonics’s own style also plays a defining role in Málna’s desserts. An important part of the brand’s philosophy is consistent quality, carefully selected ingredients, and pure flavors and precise textures. All of this is paired with a contemporary, instantly recognizable aesthetic.
