The autumn season promises to start on an exciting note for Star Wars enthusiasts, as Cinema MOM will be screening the legendary saga once again between September 5th and October 23rd, offering special surprises for those who visit!
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars film in Hungary and the 25th anniversary of the premiere of The Phantom Menace, the opening of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. These jubilees have provided the occasion for a 7-week movie marathon, during which both dubbed and subtitled versions will be shown. The screenings will feature digitally restored 4K versions, which have not been seen in Hungarian cinemas before, presented in line with modern standards.
The marathon includes a special twist, as the Rogue One film, arguably the most successful of the new-era Star Wars films, will be inserted between the two trilogies at the turn of the month. Like the others, this film will only be available for one week.
In addition to the screenings, the organizers have planned various other programs to enrich the festive event, including poster and photo exhibitions, costume displays, and additional activities for attendees.
The films will be shown in chronological order as follows:
- September 5-11: The Phantom Menace
- September 12-18: Attack of the Clones
- September 19-25: Revenge of the Sith
- September 26 – October 2: Rogue One
- October 3-9: A New Hope
- October 10-16: The Empire Strikes Back
- October 17-23: Return of the Jedi
